The day after we got home from Lake Powell, we headed north again to Island Park, ID to meet our good friends from Optometry school, the Despains. We stopped in Rexburg to visit my brother and sister-in-law. The temple there is beautiful and the campus is growing, but I enjoyed walking around and reminiscing. We stayed in a cabin at Island Park and visited Yellowstone for a couple days. We saw Gyser Basin with the largest gyser in the world, Steamboat and an awesome waterfall, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. We missed Old Faithful by seconds. We saw bison, elk, a bald eagle, ravens, and pelicans, plus way too many mosquitoes. It was wonderful to be with old friends again and the kids all played fantastically together. I could have stayed a few weeks more! On the way back we visited my grandparents in Blackfoot. The boys were great troopers and I wish we could vacation all summer long...

Good Times, Good Times
We've all loved having Jeremy home with us all month. We've had a ton of fun and done a fair amount of driving. We spent the 4th in Boise. We went to a splash park, had a BBQ with friends and family and then watched the fireworks (front row) at a park in Boise with all the Lines'. I've never been so close to a fireworks show before and it was quite impressive. It was also so fun to spend time with family. Here's us at the park. (Sam was wearing a cute 4th of July shirt, but he fell into the canal during the boat race.)
After we got home we took the boys on their first real hike to Cecret Lake. They did awesome and loved it, especially Paul. We went swimming and letterboxing as well. Jer went down to Zion's with some guys in the ward and hiked the subway.
Then we headed to Lake Powell with some friends. I could get used to the life of a beach bum. We spent the days swimming, reading, boating, waterskiing, playing games, digging in the sand, eating and visiting. Paul and Jer both waterskiied for the first time. They also did some cliff diving--Paul on a much smaller scale. We went to a cove with this huge sand hill. I was proud of myself for making it to the top. The water there was beautiful and warm. Who knew that a little piece of paradise existed in southern Utah. Paul spent most of his time swimming in the lake. Sam loved the boat rides (also great for napping), eating treats and the sand. In the evenings we took baths in the lake, put the boys to bed in the tent and played mafia. Many thanks to all the Hendrickson family for hosting our super fun trip!

I Finally Found the One
A great babysitter is hard to find. Once we moved here we decided we were out of excuses to not hire a babysitter and get out more. The boys are old enough and Paul is no longer clingy--amazing! We've tried several girls in the ward and most have been great. But honestly, I hadn't found one that I was really impressed with, until Saturday. One of my Activity Day girls turned 11 and since she's very mature and responsible for her age I gave her a call. I picked her up and she had her "babysitting kit" with her (just like I used to have). She proceeded to ask me all kinds of questions about the boys, their schedule and what they were allowed to do. She even asked if she could leave them treats for the morning if they were good (which I also used to do when I babysat). We got home and found that she had made dinner, completely done the dishes, played games and made pictures with the boys, got the boys to bed on time with teeth brushed and was so excited about babysitting that she made it seem like I was doing her a favor by asking her. I am thrilled to have finally found the perfect babysitter. Of course I'm not sharing in case she gets too busy. :)
