Camping, Camping and More Camping

Last summer we had a serious lack of adventures--partly because I was pregnant and partly because Jeremy was so busy with the yard. We didn't want to waste another summer not making memories for our kiddos, so we decided to buy a tent trailer and make camping our go-to adventure. I'm glad we got it, as it does make camping much easier and more enjoyable for me. The boys love camping and I think it's good for them (well, all of us) to be in nature more and learn some outdoorsy skills.

The first trip we took was just us to Deer Creek Reservoir to try out the tent trailer. We took a small hike and played at the little beach area until it got too windy.

The second trip we took was with some neighborhood friends to Trail Lake in the Unitas. We kayaked at the lake, played in the little creek that ran through the campground, and the kids rode bikes. Thanks to the Checketts for inviting us along.

Next we headed to Iron Mine Campground also in the Unitas with some friends, the Hendricksons and Christophersons. It was the only trip I didn't bring swimsuits and the only one we needed swimsuits. There was a river prefect for wading and jumping in. It was lots of fun, even with the rain.

Oh, it looks like so much fun! Good for you guys making the most of your summer! What lucky kids you have. We are going to try to get a tent trailer soon (our house isn't big enough and we think it will make a perfect "guest room!" Ha! We'll send the kids out and let the guests stay in their room. :) And camping is the best vacation there is with small kids. We are excited to have some of our own adventures!
