Our boy turned 7. It's always a little crazy to pause Christmas and have a birthday, but he had a great day (or 2 days really). We kept it low-key and he invited 7 boys over on Saturday for a party. We played hot potato, opened presents, ate cupcakes and snacks and then played the wii. Sunday we had waffles and then a family party that evening. We got him a skateboard (which he has been asking for since he was 2).
We're so proud of our Paul. He is a great big brother and a great helper. He is very social and has lots of friends. He is doing well in school. Paul is active, smart, funny and empathetic. He likes to tell silly stories and jokes (gotta love little boy humor).
Here's a few recent tales of Paul:
He takes any store ad or catalog and cuts out all the pictures of things he may want. He now has a bag full of little pictures. His Christmas wish list is like a mile long. One day he wrote everything down and looked up online how much each item would cost. He told me, "I need like a thousand dollars." Next he searched "how to get money fast" on google.
Audrey has been having trouble going to bed at night. Jeremy closed her door since she wouldn't stop crying and calling out requests. Paul came out of bed and said, "Three things. First, Audrey is driving me crazy. Second, I feel kinda bad that her door is closed. Third, I think I know how to calm her down."
Sam was laying down on the floor whining that he needed help to clean his room. Paul told him he would help him and made up a fun game to get Sam to clean up.
He's such a great kid and we love having him in our family.

Its pretty crazy that he's 7!!! Weird that we met when he wasn't even born! But what a good kid! Love those stories, he sounds delightful to have around! Happy Birthday Paul!
His cake looks great. My kids are so excited to see you guys. Less than a week! Ehlana is wearing the hat Grandma made. I guess it is yours. I will pass it to Audrey for next year, although it is kinda big. Who knows what else mom has in the snow clothes bin in the attic...
What a sweet boy! Hope he loves being 7. :)
