Paul completed 1st grade. Yea! Paul had a fantastic year at Sprucewood Elementary. He made lots of friends, excelled at reading and math and improved his handwriting (some) and writing skills. He rode the bus which meant he left home at 8 am and returned home at 4 pm. Most days he took a lunch from home. His favorite hot lunch was orange chicken and least favorite was cheese breadsticks. He often came home without eating much lunch--I think so he could have more time at recess or because he was too busy socializing to eat. He, of course, loved recess and computer lab. Paul met his AR (reading program) goal and earned his Golden Falcon award as well as the National PE award. He enjoyed the days when Harmons grocery store came to talk about nutrition. Some of the journal books he wrote were titled "Skateboard Tricks," "Knock Knock Jokes," "What Did You Get for Christmas," and "High Scores on my Pogo Stick." We are so grade of our now 2nd grader.

The girl in the top picture had a crush on Paul and sent notes home all the time which Paul pretty much ignored. When we met her mom she and Jeremy remembered that they had a class together at the community college. Jeremy then remembered that he'd had a crush on her, but she had a boyfriend or something. I laughed all day about that--oh the ironies of life!

ITs amazing how much our kids are growing up!!! Looks like a great year!
He is growing up so fast! Thanks for sharing what we don't get to see. I'm glad he had a great year.
