Big Girl Room

My little girl is growing up fast. With the boys, I had a set schedule to wean them out of the baby phase. It was in this order: take away the binky, move to a twin bed, then potty training. Paul did these steps according to plan in two month increments (I was a weird first-time mom.) Audrey, however, was potty trained first. Then just a month or so ago we sent her binkies to the Binky Fairy and she got treats in exchange. She had a rough time with this. I was all for just letting her wean herself off of them, even though the boys never had a binky past age 2. But she started wanting one all the time and throwing tantrums and such for them, so we (mostly Jeremy) decided to get rid of them. She still talks about it.
Anyway, all that was left was moving out of the crib and again I was in no hurry (see how 3 kids have wisened me.) I was keeping my eye out for a new bed for her though and last week I found just the one. We went and bought it and I was planning to just keep it in storage, but she was so excited. She talked about it constantly and when she woke up in the morning it was the first thing she asked about. So we set up her big girl room and she loves it. She's done quite well too and has seemed to transition the easiest of my kids. Lesson learned: I guess my kids will let me know when they are ready to grow up.

Wow. She is growing up fast! The room looks lovely, so I can see why she transitioned so perfectly. :)

Isn't that true. Her room is cute. I have loved doing Brynlee's too. Girls are fun.

so cute! Getting rid of binkies was so hard for my 2. She was 3 when we got rid of it. I just found her today laying on the floor with one of Lila's in her mouth.

I miss you guys!
Congrats on your big news, I think that is really exciting. :) I wonder if you're hoping for pink or blue?
Where did you get your shadow box for Audrey's room? I love it and am keeping my eye out for something like it because my boys have so many little "treasures" that I would like to display.
You always do such a great job of decorating!
